Tue, 24 Aug 2010 00:27:00 -0700 A letter of Apology from a Filipino teenager about the hostage tragedy http://empoweringpinoy.posterous.com/a-letter-of-apology-from-a-filipino-teenager http://empoweringpinoy.posterous.com/a-letter-of-apology-from-a-filipino-teenager

608x325
I would like to share this patriotic letter from a young man Reigno Jose Dilao. He is a teenager, a student, and a Filipino who has a big heart for his country.

August 23, 2010

"A letter from a teenage Filipino to the WHOLE WORLD”

As you are reading this letter, I bet that you have seen/heard about what happened earlier in our country.

Tourists were hostages of a policeman here, Rolando Mendoza. After a few hours of the horrible crime, some of the victims were dead including the hostage-taker.

I wrote this letter not just to apologize but also to let everyone know that we Filipinos are not all like Mendoza. We are loving and good-hearted people.

For so many years, our country has been standing tall and surpassing every dilemma; be it small or big. Years ago (back when I wasn’t born yet), you have watched us fight for what we think is right. We fought for the democracy of our nation.. The EDSA revolution. But that’s just one out of many.

Second. We Filipinos have been serving other countries for our families and we treat you as our own as well. With all due respect, I thank you all for giving us the trust through the years. For helping us to become what we are now.

The Philippines is more than just a group of islands. We are a nation of strong and remarkable people. A country of beauty and love known to be hospitable and well-valued. I humbly apologize for what happened tonight. No one in this world would want something like that to happen for life should be valued.

I politely ask the attention of the world. Please do not judge and mistreat us just because of what happened tonight. I have been searching the net and found terrible things. Hong Kong advices to avoid travels here, China and HK bans Filipinos and that Philippines is the worst place to go.

I can’t blame you for what you have decided but I hope that you could understand. Our country is now in a sea of problems. And I know for sure that we helped you in a way or another. Let peace and understanding reign this time.

I know that this letter will just be trash but I wish that you would understand. On behalf of the Philippine population.. WE ARE SORRY.

As a song puts it…

And I believe that in my life I will see an end to hopelessness, giving-up and suffering. And we all stand together this one time then no one will get left behind. Stand up for life. STAND UP FOR LOVE

Sincerely yours,

Reigno Jose Dilao

Catbalogan City, Samar

(End of Letter)

To Reigno, you are a young hero of the Philippines. I commend you for writing this letter of trying to uplift the morale of the Philippines, after this tragic incident. Kudos to you. You are indeed an idol to many young Filipinos like you, and should also be an inspiration to many Filipinos.

Reminder1

Reminding you that:
* The Greatest Obstacles to Success is IGNORANCE then LAZINESS *

If that's the case, would you let these two hinder your way to success?

Start asking this question to yourself:

"What should I do about it?"

I can suggest some ideas that worked for me that might work for you too.

Tue, 03 Aug 2010 20:48:00 -0700 Forgiveness: The best Antidote for Anger http://empoweringpinoy.posterous.com/forgiveness-the-best-antidote-for-anger http://empoweringpinoy.posterous.com/forgiveness-the-best-antidote-for-anger

Poison3

"Holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die" - Unknown

According to Wikipedia:

Anger is an emotion. The physical effects of anger include increased heart rate, blood pressure, and levels of adrenaline and noradrenaline. [1] Some view anger as part of the fight or flight brain response to the perceived threat of harm. [2] Anger becomes the predominant feeling behaviorally, cognitively, and physiologically when a person makes the conscious choice to take action to immediately stop the threatening behavior of another outside force. [3] The English term originally comes from the term anger of Old Norse language.[4] Anger can have many physical and mental consequences.

Or in simple definition:

It’s this exhausting, tiring feeling inside that is caused by something not meeting with your expectations. It may be the feeling of disrespect when someone didn’t keep his commitment, a lover whom you never expected to cheat on you or the feeling of a little kid whose candy has been taken away. There are a lot of things that can cause anger.

Anger is a normal feeling that everybody experiences. What’s not normal is making that anger grow huge and create a black hole of resentment and hate. This black hole sucks up all your positive energies, making you feel tired, hopeless and seeking for revenge. These negative emotions create negative results in your actions.

Although anger can cause a lot of trouble in our system, there’s Good News! There is a simple and effective way to get rid of anger.

:: Forgiveness

When I say simple, I don’t mean easy. But if given enough effort and thinking, it would make your life and relationships with other people better.

In an argument, both sides have their own understanding of what’s right. Forgiving, is a way of understanding the other person’s perspective on your same situation.

We don’t necessarily forget but we do necessarily have to forgive. Because, the idea of forgiving is for the benefit of the person who forgives. It is an act of releasing the negative emotions trapped inside. It also removes you from the emotional attachment to the past event, letting yourself move forward and accept new things to come into your life.

For me, I’d rather forgive than let myself drown. Instead of letting other people get in the way of my dreams, I’ll just pass through them and leave them with inspiration and a smile. J

Understanding myself better and knowing how to build strong relationships are just some of the traits I acquired from surrounding myself with positive people in Create Abundance International Community. I am proud to be where I am right now – better and happy, but still looking forward to the great things that soon to be discovered in myself and in other people.

"Achieving Emotional Freedom is one of the steps to achieving Happiness and Success. The Choice is just yours to make."

Mon, 26 Jul 2010 00:36:00 -0700 The Battle of the Wolves Inside You http://empoweringpinoy.posterous.com/the-battle-of-the-wolves-inside-you http://empoweringpinoy.posterous.com/the-battle-of-the-wolves-inside-you

Ying_and_yang_wolves_by_picturebypali

An old man is teaching his grandson about life.

"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves – a white wolf and a black wolf.

"The black wolf is full of anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt and resentments.
It tells lies most of the time and has false pride. All it wants is supreme power to rule."

He continued, "The other one is the white wolf - this wolf is encouraging, peaceful, loving, hopeful, sincere, kind and humble. It is full of empathy, generosity and compassion."

The grandfather explained that “the same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too.”

The boy thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"

The old man simply replied, "The one you feed the most."

---

Moral of the Story:
Our emotions creates a great influence towards every decisions and actions we make.

If we let our negative emotions win, more often than not, we don't achieve happiness and we drag those emotions towards our current and future relationships. These negative emotions also acts like anchors limiting us from achieving success in life.

On the other hand, if we choose to let the positive emotions win, all our actions and decisions leads us to ultimate happiness. And as you go towards your journey, people will also be influenced and inspired by your actions, creating more people for success.

In Create Abundance International Community, we create a positive environment for people who wants to make success their path of least resistance. And by doing that, we're not only making success for ourselves but also influence other people to recognize and create their own success.

Wed, 21 Jul 2010 05:05:00 -0700 Falling IN LOVE is EASY, Keeping that LOVE ALIVE is what really Counts! http://empoweringpinoy.posterous.com/falling-in-love-is-easy-keeping-that-love-ali http://empoweringpinoy.posterous.com/falling-in-love-is-easy-keeping-that-love-ali

I just observed that a lot of people are in seek of Love almost everyday.
and I admit I'm ONE of them.

It shows from the statuses i read everyday, to "Become a Fan of PAG NAAALALA KONG NAINLOVE AKO SAYO, NATATAWA NLANG AKO", to hearing love stories from friends etc.

This just reminds me that there is an abundance of love everywhere. You can find love effortlessly, everywhere. You can feel love in an unexpected time and day, like love when enjoying a hot coffee while having a nice chat with your friends, or feeling the love when you see a movie that inspires you or just that tiny tickle you feel when somebody smiles and appreciates something from you and says "Thanks a! :)".

But what i just realized is that falling in love or getting love is EASY, BUT keeping that love ALIVE or Staying in love is what really COUNTS. This applies to everything, Romantic Love, Love for your Family/Friends, Country, Business, Religion etc.

Keeping the LOVE alive requires TIME. TIME to do the things you love with your LOVED ONES, TIME to know more about that person or TIME to spend joyful moments with them.

How about you...

How do you keep the LOVE alive?
How do you create TIME?

In Create Abundance Business Community, We find ways to Create TIME for the things that we LOVE to do, and TIME to spend for the people we LOVE.

We take time educating ourselves financially so that Money can Buy us the TIME that will buy us FREEDOM to focus on those things/people that are most important to US.

Tue, 13 Jul 2010 20:10:00 -0700 The Story of the Wood Cutter http://empoweringpinoy.posterous.com/22870190 http://empoweringpinoy.posterous.com/22870190

The Story of the Wood Cutter

There was once a woodcutter who was working feverishly to saw down a tree.

A young man came across the woodcutter and asked “What are you doing?”

“Can't you see” the woodcutter replied.  “I am sawing down this tree.”

The young man sat down and asked the woodcutter to take a break and sharpen his saw as he looked exhausted.  The woodcutter explained to the young man that he had been sawing for five hours straight and did not have time to take a break.

The young man looked at the woodcutter and said “If you sharpen the saw, you would cut down the tree much faster.”

The woodcutter said “I don’t have time to sharpen the saw. Can you not see I am too busy.”

Woodcutter

Moral of the Story: Preserve and enhance the greatest asset that you have - You.

We sometimes ignore things that will make us a better person. Those things that will take us faster to where we want to be because we are too busy doing what we are comfortable with.

For some people, the only time they'll sit down and think of ways on how to make things better is when the game is almost over. When people get tired and exhausted and too much time has already been lost.

Now, take time to reflect and ask these questions to yourself:

  • Where do you see yourself 3 years from now?
  • Are your current actions and beliefs, taking you to where you want to go?
  • What changes or enhancements do you need to get there faster?

*It would be better if you write this down in a notebook. Make it as exciting as if your planning a grand vacation with your loved ones.

Being aware of where you're at and where you really want to be are just the first few steps on how we make things happen in Create Abundance Community. With the workshops that we organize, we let people discover their selves and share their dreams.

Tue, 06 Jul 2010 23:58:00 -0700 Are you taking PAIN RELIEVERS in your LIFE? http://empoweringpinoy.posterous.com/are-you-taking-pain-relievers-in-your-life http://empoweringpinoy.posterous.com/are-you-taking-pain-relievers-in-your-life

Stress

A Warrior of the Light knows that certain moments repeat themselves. He often finds himself faced by the same problems and the situations, and seeing these difficult situations return, he grows depressed, thinking that he is incapable of making any progress in life.

“I’ve been through all this before,” he says to his heart.

“Yes, you have been through all this before,” replies his heart. “But you have never been beyond it.”

Then the Warrior realizes that these repeated experiences have but one aim: to teach him what he does not want to learn.

-excerpt from Warrior of the Light Manual

Why do some of our problems repeat themselves?
Could it be that some of our solutions are only temporary?

Or in other words, Pain Relievers?

These Pain Relievers are like drugs that give you an illusion that the problem has already been cured or has totally disappeared.

Beware! For some of these Pain Relievers are the easiest options available!

A. Escape: an inclination to retreat from unpleasant realities through diversion or fantasy.

example:
A Grand Getaway Vacation. Usually done in a heaven-like place where people are happy and have fun for different reasons. The people who use this as an escape would usually yell "I hope this never ends", which means that they know that there will come a time that the fun will end.

After effect: Facebook Status: "Back to Reality :("

B. Complain/Blame: expressing pain, dissatisfaction or resentment. A feeling of anger or displeasure stemming from belief that others have engaged in wrongdoing or mistreatment.

example:
"I am the Victim here". Usually occurs when you don't get what you think you deserve. The feeling of mistreatment and not getting what you want. Your belief is that other people are responsible for the pain you're currently experiencing. By complaining, you are given an emotional comfort that other people are the ones who need to provide solutions for your problem because you're the victim.

After effect: You're filled with anger. It's like "Drinking poison and expecting other people to die"

C. Go with the Flow: You make yourself believe that everything just happens and you can't do anything about it so you just go with the flow. You let things happen just the way they are.

After effect: You're already numb. You're just waiting for everything to end. In the meantime, you just do what you currently do. No Complaints, nothing at all.

These Pain Killers are just temporary solutions to the Problems. This makes you run on endless circles of problems. It will return repeatedly because nothing ever gets solved.

The Good news is: There's already an effective solution so that you won't experience the same problems again. They are called: AWARENESS and CHANGE.

Most of our recurring problems are just results of our recurring actions. So for us to be able to cut the routine of problems, we should CHANGE something that we always do. And for CHANGE to take effect, we should first be aware of where our current actions and beliefs are taking us, for some of these actions and beliefs contribute a large amount to what usually happens in our life.

Keep in MInd: Will and Discipline is necessary in order for CHANGE to take effect.

Now, reflect on yourself and your life.
What are those recurring problems that you're already tired of?
How do  you usually deal with those problems?
Now that these problem persists, what changes do you plan to take?
